A booth on SW 69th Avenue

Flagami sits west of Little Havana along West Flagler. It is where a lot of this city's Latin and hip hop records actually get cut, and it is not where the tourist studios are.

Getting here and parking

The room is at 9 SW 69th Avenue on the second floor, a block off West Flagler Street. From Downtown it is about fifteen minutes on the 836, and from Hialeah about ten minutes south on Palmetto.

Street parking is straightforward outside rush hour, which matters more than it sounds when you are carrying a hard drive and a guitar at nine at night.

Why artists from this side of town book here

Most of the studios that show up first in a search sit in Wynwood or up in North Miami Beach. If you live in Flagami, Westchester, or Sweetwater, that is a forty minute drive each way with a session on the clock.

Booking closer means the same money buys more recording and less traffic. It also means you can come back tomorrow when a line is not sitting right.

What a session here looks like

The chain is patched and levels are set before you arrive. Warm up, one full pass for feel, then punches, with comping happening live so you hear the composite in the room.

You leave with a rough mix the same night. The person recording you is the person who mixes it, so nothing gets explained twice.
