What the eight checks are
True peak
Whether it distorts after Spotify encodes it. The most common release fault there is.
Loudness
Where it lands against the level platforms play everything back at.
Crest factor
How much punch is left between the peaks and the body of the mix.
Clipping
Runs of samples pinned at full scale. That is distortion, not loudness.
Mono fold
What disappears when a club rig or a phone speaker sums it to one channel.
Top end
Whether the file went through MP3 at some point and lost bandwidth.
DC offset
Whether the waveform is centered. Off center costs headroom.
Low end share
How much of the record lives under 120 Hz. Too much is the car mud problem.
What it cannot do
It cannot tell you the song is good. No measurement can. A record can pass all eight checks and still be boring, and it can fail three and still be a hit.
What it does is catch the faults that follow a file to streaming, where you have no control left. Fix those and what is left is a taste conversation.
Does my song get uploaded?
No. The file is read and measured inside your browser and never leaves the device.
What files work?

Can this tell me if my song is good?
